At The Speech Collab, we provide communication support through Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) services designed for children with complex communication needs. AAC systems, including speech generating devices, can serve as powerful tools that empower children to express their wants, needs, thoughts, and ideas.
Unfortunately, many families abandon their child's device within the first years due to a lack of support. At The Speech Collab, we are dedicated to building AAC capacity for all communication partners. We offer training, coaching, and consultation to families, teachers, and other professionals.

Identifying and acquiring an AAC system that fits your child's needs can be challenging. At The Speech Collab, we provide essential communication support through AAC evaluations and funding assistance. Once your child receives their device, we also offer device customization and technical assistance.

Sessions typically focus on coaching communication partners in the use of evidence-based AAC strategies during meaningful daily activities.

Sessions typically focus on training communication partners without the child present. Our focus is on meeting your specific learning needs and preferences. We offer individualized or group sessions for beginner and advanced topics.

Our practice operates on a private pay basis, meaning we do not bill or work directly with health insurance companies. This allows us to provide individualized and high-quality care without the limitations often imposed by insurance networks.
Clients are responsible for payment at the time of service. We accept credit cards, checks, and cash.
If you wish to seek reimbursement from your insurance provider, we are happy to provide a superbill—a detailed receipt that includes the necessary information for you to submit a claim. Please note that reimbursement is not guaranteed and depends on your specific insurance plan and out-of-network benefits.
We recommend contacting your insurance provider in advance to inquire about:
- Coverage for out-of-network speech-language therapy services
- Requirements for reimbursement
- Whether a referral or prior authorization is needed
If you have any questions about our payment structure or need help understanding the superbill process, we’re here to assist.

I am passionate about partnering with families and professionals to provide effective communication support for individuals who use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). Together, we explore practical ways to integrate evidence-based strategies into everyday interactions, which allows families to connect with their child in new and meaningful ways.
For many years, I served as the AAC/Assistive Technology (AT) specialist across multiple school settings. In this role, I trained, coached, and collaborated with special education teachers, occupational therapists, physical therapists, classroom teachers, educational assistants, and families. I conducted and facilitated team-based AAC and AT evaluations and supported successful device implementation. I’ve worked closely with a variety of AAC device vendors, primary care managers, and local private practices to help families acquire personal AAC systems.
I’ve presented on a range of AAC and AT topics both in-person and virtually and have instructed graduate-level courses. I truly enjoy mentoring speech-language pathologists and other professionals in this field.
I received my Master of Science in Speech Language Pathology from Hunter College and my Speech Language Pathology Doctorate from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions, specializing in AAC.
